URL Forwarding is the process at which you can forward/redirect your domain name to any other URL/website on the web.
- The first thing you must do in order to to use this free service is edit your DNS through the Domain Manager tool. Your domain must utilize these nameservers. Please allow 24-72 hours for any domain name changes to fully propagate the Internet.

Get started with URL Forwarding:
The following steps will guide you through forwarding your domain to a website.
1. First, login to the Domain Manager then scroll down to the section titled "Host Settings".
2. The Hostname record of “www” which is default line 1, will forward the domain www.yourname.com when entered into a browser. The Hostname record of @ (none) which is default line 2, will forward the domain yourname.com (if they do not enter the www’s into the browser).
- 3. Now you can enter your forwarding information . If you already have a website and are planning on using your domain name to replace a long and hard to understand address such as: http://geocities.com/mydomain/yournames,com OR, you believe that customers may be misspelling your web address (domain name), and would like to point a common misspelled version of your domain name to your actual website, you may want to have your new domain name point or forward to a particular website. You will select URL Redirect or URL Frame.
- 4. Under “Record type” you have the choice of URL Frame or URL Redirect. Here is the difference: URL Redirect will simply redirect you your domain name to the website intended. The user will see the intended website, but the original domain name will still display in their browser.
5. For example, let’s say that you want to Redirect the domain name www.happy2.com to the website www.mywebsite.com. By selecting the URL Redirect option, when someone types in www.happy2.com in their browser, they will be sent (redirected) to the website www.mywebsite.com. In this case, the user’s browser will show the domain name www.mywebsite.com as well as display the www.mysebsite.com website.
6. If you select the URL Frame option, the following will occur: When someone types in www.happy2.com the website www.mywebsite.com will immediately show up. The user’s browser will still display the domain name www.happy2.com in the URL window.
7. If your web hosting company has instructed you to forward your domain to an I.P. Address, you will use the Record Type of (A)ddress. Enter the I.P. Address under the “Address” column.
- 8. Once you have entered your information, click on "save changes".
- 9. To enter Meta Tags, you would click on the “meta tags” option from your control panel.
- 10. We recommend this feature for more advanced users who are familiar with Meta Tags.
- Enter the desiered content for the Title Tag and the Meta Tags (Description and Keywords) which will be added to the Frame Source. These may help with Spiders and Search Engine Placement. We recommend this feature for more advanced users who are familiar with Meta Tags.
Once you have entered your information, click on Save.
