Q) Who will own the domain name that I register?
A) You retain full legal ownership and control over your domain name. You can sell, renew, transfer and change settings to your domain name. Your Domain Manager provides you real-time access to easily manage your domain name.
Q) How long will it take to register my domain name?
A) We will process your domain registration order within 24 hours, provided the registration form is filled out correctly and the order passes our short fraud-screening test. Once your domain name has been registered successfully, you will be able to login and manage it through the Domain Manager.
Q) What do I get with my domain name registration?
A) Click here to see the list of services you will receive when you register a domain name with us. Please note that we reserve the right to withdraw or change the list of free services that we provide.
Q) Why does my recently registered domain name still appear to be available in a Whois search?
A) Please allow up to 72 hours for new domains to appear in the whois database. All recently registered domain names will still show as available in a Whois search. This is normal.
Q) Once my domain name is registered, can anyone else take it?
A) As long as your domain is registered to your name, all the required fees are paid and it's not in breach of any law, trademark or copyright, nobody else can either use it or take it without your consent. As an added security measure, your domain will be automatically locked so that it cannot be transferred to another person or registrar without identification documents from you. It will be unlocked only when you choose to use your own DNS servers or requested by you.
Q) I just registered my domain but where do I get the password to access it?
A) Once your domain registration order has been processed, you can access it within the Domain Manager. If you have forgotten your password, please click the "Remind Password" link on the Help Page.
Q) Can I cancel a registration after submitting the order form?
A) Sorry, no. Once the registration process has been initiated it can't be canceled, so choose your domain wisely. Be sure to check its spelling before you submit your order. Domain registrations are non-refundable.
Q) Are there any other hidden fees or charges for my domain registration order?
A) No. The amount you are paying as specified on the order form is all you need to pay for your domain name. There are no other hidden fees or charges. We do not charge you for all the free services we provide.
Q) Do I need to register all three domain name extensions: .com, .net and .org?
A) You will realize that the cost of domain name registration and support is minor compared to the marketing expense to promote and establish your domain name in the marketplace. The last thing you want to happen is to have someone else (your competitor in most cases) benefit from your efforts in establishing your name.
Q) How many years should I register my domain name for?
A) Thousands of domain names expire every day. So much so that an entire industry has evolved to serve the needs of people trying to locate good domains that have or will expire soon. Individuals, companies and organizations can lose their domain names due to reasons such as:
- - The webmaster forgets to renew the domain by the expiry date.
- - The email address that the domain is registered with becomes invalid, and the domain name registrant doesn't receive the renewal notices.
- - Other reasons for losing one's domain include: hijacking, employee sabotage, and even computer or clerical errors. Allowing one's domain name to expire could result in websites and e-mail being disrupted for days, even weeks. If your domain name is important to you or you want to avoid the inconvenience of losing your domain, we recommend that you register your domain name for as long as you can afford and set the "auto renew" option in your Billing Manager to Yes.
Q) Can I set my domain to auto-renew?
A) Yes, you can enable auto-renew in your Billing Manager, but domain renewals will only run after the domain renewal invoice has been paid. You will receive the domain renewal invoice by email 30 days before your domains' expiration. For this reason we highly recommend that you keep a valid name and email address for the admin contact information.
Q) Why should I add additional years to my domain's registration?
A) According to a thread on Searchengineforums.com, "Domains registered for longer periods give the indication, true or not, that their owner is legitimate. Google uses a domain's length of registration when indexing and ranking a Web site for inclusion in their organic search results. So to prove to everyone that your site is the real deal, register for more than one year and increase your chances of boosting your search ranking on Google".
Q) Do I have to provide all the information requested on the registration page?
A) Yes, we require your personal information in order to verify your identity before we can process your order. These information will also be displayed in the Whois search for your domain.
Q) How do I make my personal information private in the whois database?
A) If you wish to keep some parts of your information as private, you may setup ID Protect or simply edit and update the contact information in the Domain Manager (once your domain registration order is complete). However, you should provide at least a valid name and email address for the admin contact information. In this way, we can still contact you should there be any problem with your domain name. You should also update your email address if there are any changes so that we are able send you a reminder for your domain renewal.
