Natural search engine results carry much more weight because they cannot be influenced by any amount of money.

It is quite clear that natural search will rise in prominence and will attract a lot of public attention as the search engine wars continue to escalate.

Natural or organic search means the editorial search results that have nothing to do with the sponsored or featured results that usually appear on the side and are paid for. They are paid for in the sense that the more a company is willing to pay per visitor, the higher the position they will end up with in the sponsored results.

Actually what tends to happen more often than not is that you will find large companies on the sponsored side of the results and much smaller companies on the natural search or organic search side. In other words smart small business entrepreneurs learn all they can about search engines and end up with their domain at the top of search engine results for free. On the other hand much larger organizations end up paying through the nose to get to the top of search engine results via sponsored results.

But then, natural search engine results carry much more weight because they cannot be influenced by any amount of money. They depend on keywords and link popularity amongst a host of other less important factors that search engines consider when giving sites rankings.

The implications here are huge. It means that with the help of natural search (which big companies are not good at) a small start up can win a colossal amount of traffic and profits for themselves via search engines, right under the nose of a deep-pocketed Fortune 500 organization.

This is what actually happens every day. But the really exciting thing is that it is bound to get only better for the small enterprises as more attention is drawn to natural searches. Inevitably a much clearer line or distinction will be drawn between natural searches and sponsored searches, if nowhere else, then definitely in the minds of the public, handing over even more traffic to small business.
