Domain Marketing: Keywords Focusing On Problems Can Be Advantageous

Most people involved in marketing a domain name tend to focus directly on keywords related to their industry

When using either Adwords, articles marketing or any other form of online promotion, most people involved in marketing a domain name tend to focus directly on keywords related to the service they are offering. This is a big mistake that inevitably leads to a very poor response and mediocre sales.

It is a much more effective web marketing strategy to target keyword phrases that are related to problems that your product can solve.

For example, a web site selling health supplements would be a lot better off in their web marketing if they targeted people with various ailments that can be best dealt with by health supplements. For instance anybody promoting antioxidants would be much more successful focusing on heart attacks and certain heart ailments. The focus should always be on the problem your product or service solves, rather than on the product itself.

You will often find that most people who come online searching for a solution to a problem start off with very little information and they are mostly seeking for solutions. For instance a novice webmaster whose site takes ages to load is unlikely to focus on changing their web host as the first solution that comes to mind. However they will carefully read and absorb any article that deals with common problems with web sites including a slow loading speed.

Remember that when people come across a solution to their problem written by somebody who seems to be knowledgeable on the subject, it looks less like advertising and more of a genuine solution to a nagging problem and therefore their chances of buying are much higher. This is a very valuable marketing lesson that can change your results dramatically.

When you really think about it, one of the reasons why the Google Adsense program has been so successful and effective in marketing is because people reading good content offering advice are then able to see contacts of possible solution providers in the ads displayed on the site. This is a very powerful combination that is often underestimated.
